About Abbey Credit Union
We welcome you and your family to join our family at Abbey Credit Union. Abbey Credit Union was incorporated November 17, 1937 under the name of "The Inland Employees Credit Union" governed by the State of Ohio. The first building to house the credit union was a half-double located at 103 Abbey Avenue, in Dayton, Ohio. It was soon was replaced by a larger house at 43 Abbey Avenue, hence in the name Abbey.
In 1971 Abbey moved near Vandalia to 8980 North Dixie Drive to a newer office. Soon, we outgrew that and had to double our building space to our current location at 800 Falls Creek Drive, Vandalia, Ohio. Our new home is a monument to community progress and a symbolic tribute to all who helped make Abbey Credit Union, Inc. what it now is - A not for profit financial organization owned by the members for the benefit of all who belong. A credit union dedicated to serving it's members.
Our goal is a sincere desire to help people help each other by promoting thrift through convenient systematic savings plans and providing quick economic sources of confidential credit.
All financial profits from loans and savings accounts are returned to members in the form of dividends, interest, or other benefits...after expenses and required reserves are set aside. The credit union doesn't profit...its members do!
Abbey Credit Union has grown from very humble beginnings to a credit union of over 6,000 members. The growth and progress has been closely linked to the growth and progress of our field of membership. The credit union has always depended upon the kindness of volunteers and our good members. Great staff and managers have worked diligently to make Abbey Credit Union the success it is today. May you always have reason to be as proud of us and our service as we are proud and privileged to serve you. You are the ones responsible for our successes over the years. Thanks to You!
